Thread makes for interesting reading.
Decent year for me. Finally got round to a classic MSE-style money makeover, which actually did save me and the wife about £1.5k with a few hours work (mainly savings in insurance premiums). That's been offset with substantial extra costs this year coming from childcare, and buying a car which turns out to have several issues and I'm currently throwing good money after bad at it.
A personal weakness = taking on credit card debt at the same time as savings - just a psychological thing "No I'm not going to reduce my payments into the S&S ISA or take money out of it to pay off debt" - utterly foolish. I finally compromised by reducing payments by two thirds to pay off the debt instead. Being more aggressive with my budgeting spreadsheet has helped as well.
Best news came this week with my wife being offered a new job with a substantial pay rise, so 2018 should be a lot easier.0 -
Not as good as 2016. Lost money on CLLN, lost interest in multi bank accounts.0

£9,829 saved this year (so far!)
Total assets up 24% this year.
Final ISA Portfolio performance to end of 2017 is as below. One thing to note is that my portfolio performance is net of all fees (dealing charges, platform charges etc) whereas the Vanguard LS performance will only be net of Vanguard fees.
