Daft question - how to "hold" an 8-inch tablet?

OK, it was just a thought, sorry
No worries; I actually have a couple of "lap trays" similar to that one, that I sue for my laptop or occasionally, for my dinner!Did you read the newspaper one handed?
No, but then again I also didn't carry a library of paperbacks in my suitcase when I travelled. Times have changed. Technology moves on and enables us to do things differently.(Nearly) dunroving0 -

Apologies....:) There will be some fiscal reason for the non shipment to China. I've seen a few Chinese sites that state that.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Just an update to say that Amazon very reasonably allowed me to return the Fire 8 and replace for a Fire 7. I also ordered a case made by MoKo, with a handle on the back to help holding the tablet while reading.
I can categorically say this is a vast improvement. The MoKo case is much more versatile (and cheaper; think MSE!) than the Kindle own-brand case, and includes all the same functions of the Kindle own-brand (e.g., automatic magnetic turn-off). Also, the Fire 7 is noticeably not only smaller but lighter than the Kindle 8. For one-handed reading (which might be especially important for some people, e.g., those with arthritis), I'd strongly suggest considering the Fire 7 instead of the Fire 8. The only disadvantages of the 7 are (a) mono speaker; (b) less storage space.(Nearly) dunroving0
