Is uni worth it.

I didn't vote on your uni question, as I think it also depends on the course, but even with a top university course I think there is a lot of luck involved. I think the best way is when an employer pays your university fees.

    There's another thread with this exact same discussion.

    It's not luck if you go to a top-20 university, get a solid degree, and find a graduate role for the day you finish. That's called success, and it's found by hard work.

    As for tuition fees, they're irrelevant for anyone who uses Student Loans, because as Martin outlines in the MSE page on university tuition: your repayment is based on your income, not debt owed. If you owe £10'000 and earn £22'000, you pay back £90 a year. If you owe £1 million you pay back ... £90 a year.

    Degrees are also required for many mid and high-level jobs (particularly those in STEM fields), so provide the access route to those careers and their often higher salaries.

    Clearly certain degrees are valued more than others, as are some universities, but that's the way the system works. So yes, certain degrees might not be worth it, but a degree in any subject field shows dedication and ability.
