Is there a time limit to submit claim!

Can anybody advise if there is a time limit on claiming back packaged bank account fees? We had these with old bank accounts 10 years ago, is this too late?

Yes there is. Same as every other form of complaint. The 3 and 6 year rule can be used.

You have to complain within 6 years of the purchase or 3 years from being reasonably aware of an issue, whichever is the longer.

The 6 year rule is easy to apply but both need to be met. The 3 year rule is a little more variable. For example, with PPI, there is little to trigger the start of the 3 year clock. So, they cant timebar those using that.

In the case of packaged bank accounts, it is a bit clearer. Closure or conversion of account away from a packaged bank account can trigger the 3 year clock starting.

    Hi,

I only just got around to finally looking into PPI and I had various loans and mortgages which had this in the past, but over 10 years ago. Did I miss the boat on being able to claim?

The op on this thread was asking about packaged bank accounts.

    What are you asking about?
