Gladstoned!
Hi All,
Looking for advise, few months ago I parked at one of Parking premises and paid for an hour. I overstayed for I think about 20 minutes. Since then I've been receiving notices from private parking and their "affiliates". Most advice online said that you can ignore them and carry on with your life, I've received a letter from Gladstones Solicitors last week quoting a case and notifying me again to pay a fine within 14 days otherwise they would start the proceedings.
Need to know a few things:
- Do I have a case to defend?
- If there is a very good chance then it might worth the hassle.
- Weekdays are quite busy for me with regards to work, if court hearing takes the whole day my loss of income will be significantly more than the fine.
- I have no knowledge of law so not sure how to put up defence
Thanks in advance

edit the above and remove any details of who the driver was
forums are monitored by parking companies
for 4.5 yearrs the advice on here is APPEAL, dont ignore
IGNORING is what got you this far , instead of winning at popla
1) you may win , you may not , court is a lottery and judge bingo presides
2) read the NEWBIES sticky thread post #2 that deals with any LBC or MCOL
post #9 deals with acronyms
are you sure its from GLADRAGS and not drom DRP on gladrags headed notepaper ?
does it say to contact DRP ?
DOES THE REFERENCE START WITH A 3 ?
seems more likely to be a DRP letter to me , not from gladrags at all and its unlikely gladrags wrote it , or posted it0 -
Thanks for the reply Redx
Yes I should have put the matter to rest at POPLA but didn't know about it until it was too late.
I will go through the NEWBIES sticky.

It might be from DRP
does it say to contact DRP ?
Yes it does say that
DOES THE REFERENCE START WITH A 3 ?
No reference doesn't start with A30 -
Have you at any point contacted the car park owner - in most cases this will not be the parking company.
if you do, post on here what you intend to send firstFrom the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -
No I didn't contact the land owner
Should I be doing that? I don't even know how to find out who owns the land0 -
google or pay the LAND REGISTRY a small fee
(ask on site in one of the premises is also a good idea too)
and you still have not edited post #1 either0
