Worth appealing? Parking ticket - Contravention Code 62

Hi everyone.
So I visited a friend in London over the last weekend. I live in Bristol normally. On Friday I received a parking ticket for contravention code 62 - Parked with one or more wheels on or over a footpath or any part of a road other than a carriageway. Please see picture below.
I was very upset to see this. I honestly had no idea you could get a ticket for such things. There is no signage for this. You see cars park like this all the time, I even saw cars on the same street on the same day like this (I took photos). Yes I know I probably should not have parked on the grass but I am on a kerb and I am not on the footpath technically (?), certainly not obstructing a footpath. A quiet street in north London, of course I would have parked on the road if I knew you could be fined for being on a kerb.
Worth appealing?
Thanks for all your help.

You will get best advice on this by taking it to pepipoo
This forum majors on private parking charges rather than "proper" council fines0
