Hi Rachel.
Have you looked at the inside of the machine at all?
Probably need to remove either the back or top to get to it. Then it should be clear where the belt goes.
Depending on what sort of belt it is, it may be easy enough to put it on the smaller pulley, then hold one side over the larger, pushing it onto it from the side, as you turn the pulley to help pull the belt on.
Sorry i cant be more specific, hopefully someone will be along with a more detailed answer for you.0 -
Hi Rachelhilary,
Some of the White Knight ones, like most modern ones, are stretch belts and they are can be an utter pig to put on, even for the pro's. There is a special tool required to do some IIRC and it likely will look as though it's too small if this is the case.
Perseverance is the only answer, or you get someone in to do it for you I'm afraid.

put belt behind the biggest pulley and onto the small one in the groove. then get some string and loop it round the belt at the large pulley end and this will help to pull the belt onto the big pulley groove.;)0

The top is off, cant enirely remove the back as cant remove the fan, which must be the smaller pulley. The belt itself is very long and not stretchy and the old belt had broken so had fallen off!! Have even been on the web site to see if any help there - but no, none. Only 3 years old can't believe its only lasted this long. We are critised for being a throwaway society but sometimes we have no choice as white goods are not repairable by non-professionals anymore!!!!!!!:eek:0

I did this on one of my old dryers. It's just common sense and a LOT of patience (plus a torn blouse!) The first time I did it, I put the back of the machine back on and tried it. It didn't go round. Then I realised I hadn't put the belt round the pulley, only round the drum!
I've done it twice now and if I can do it then anyone can.
Think of all the money you'll be saving. Good luck. 0
