How safe is Funding Circle?

Bonds, funds, shares, ITs, ETFs all produce income be it interest, dividends or re-invested units and it seems sensible to compare after-tax returns on P2P with those in order to decide if P2P is worthwhile or not. All my investments are tax-sheltered in ISA's or SIPPs with FSA protection and producing a nice combination of income and capital gains so P2P which is generally taxable and has no FSA protection is not really attractive for me.
What's a typical return on P2P after tax, charges and bad loans? Maybe 3 to 4% if you are lucky and have no disasters.0 -
I have money spread across FC, Ratesetter, Assetz Capital and a smaller amount in some otherP2P's. About 15% in all. But I pull it back out to drip feed into other stuff. Having just had 13K mature I'm tempted to hold some more cash with Assetz Capital instant access account, and that would be the only place I would go with the OP's £250K..maybe, just maybe..but probably only a fraction of it..Over £2K made from bank switches and P2P incentives since 2016 :beer:0

Is your choice of Assetz Capital based upon the 1st charge security they insist upon with borrowers or any other factor?0 -

Well it's the odd one out for the secured and direct asset security from that list, but differs little from many other platforms in being secured.0 -

Not really, a provision fund, decent track record and their 2 easy access/ 30 day notice accounts that pay something that can actually help me achieve the growth I want..Over £2K made from bank switches and P2P incentives since 2016 :beer:0
