Really chuffed about your good news LaE
Event was good but extremely tiring yesterday. I got home sorted the cats out, showered and crashed into bed.
Still have a bit of a cough but not over doing it.
Has been amazing to have DD home this weekend. Have been so looking forward to going on our spendy treat(using Christmas vouchers) today before she travels back to uni later
Managed to have a lie in this morning.
Cats nearly sorted, cat cleaning to do in a minute.
Have been invited for Sunday dinner tonight by bestie, so will be nice instead of moping about DD leaving.
Will see DD next weekend but at a sports competition, going to travel over with a couple to friends to see her take part.
Did make DD the lasagne on Friday night. Extra portions in the freezer and she is going to take some back today. It also used up some lasagne sheets that I had had in the cupboard for what seems forever and some grated cheese that I had bought for jacket potatoes but then didn't fancy them, so nothing wasted and DD was happy.
All good here. Hope everyone is having a good weekend, have a great day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi Everyone,
I have had a good week MSE wise.
Sold my daughter's pram it has taken me about 2 years to get motivated to do it, it didn't make much. It needed packing so I had to purchase a box for it, just hope the buyer likes it and I have packed it well enough and paid enough postage.
Sold a few other bits on ebay, left money in paypal account.
Checked online banking, things have been tight this month, reduction in tax credits, as my hours have dropped with new job. I have asked them to look in to it and it would seem next payment is going up. Not helped by my ex husband not paying his child support this month.
Done a little more christmas shopping, although budget restrictions have prevented me from purchasing the remaining gifts. I have a list of ones I still need to get.
Been surveying away and have done very well, almost at the payout amount for yougov. I have used this money for Christmas gifts.0 -
Morning gang
1LL - have you tried meditation? I find mantra meditation the best for me - even just listening to it. 'Deva Premal & Miten's 21 day mantra meditation journey' is on the free spotify. Think it's 15 min
a day - a nice little intro and then the meditation - it's what introduced me to it. Just a thought
I need to go a dog walk in a bit. My fave place is an arboretum - it's so peaceful and quiet and usually don't see too many people. Dog loves it there too even though he has to stay on a lead - lots to sniff and saves me throwing his ball etc.
WM is on and then I'll put another wash in and on the airer.
I'm even going to iron tonight!
Also need to check wool stash and see if I have the colours I need (probably not!). May nip to wilko later (can use my 8% discount card there...)
Right, must dash - coffee is finished0 -
Morning Sunday Folk,
My head's all over the place this morning. It's Dad's funeral tomorrow & I really just need to get this over, so as to try & get back to routines. I've almost done all today's jobs, just stopped for coffee & slice of pear cake. My aim is to spend this afternoon on the sofa watching a film, treating myself kindly, as I know I will find tomorrow difficult. So today's frugal bits & bobs:
*Did rubber chicken duties with the Indian spiced chicken mr f cooked yesterday. Enough to serve cold tonight with some nice hot home made jacket wedges & salad, also put some aside for a sandwich & to make a spicy rice or similar for Tuesday's meal.
*Bake bread (on its first proving....I'm not missing the bread machine so far)
*Make emergency sandwiches for tomorrow. I have thought about timings & we are going to be late home (160 mile round trip to my Mum's) so I want to prevent us calling into a motorway services station & spending money on expensive sandwiches because we're ravenous & I'm feeling wobbly. Will also pack cereal bars, crisps & my water bottle.
*Cut home grown rocket for tonight's salad.
*Sorted through last of our homegrown tomatoes. Froze the ripest ones......only 150g or so, but will be fine to add to a sauce, pizza or pasta.
*I finished that last pair of socks for my sales basket, so must label them ready. Will do this next.
*Next pair of socks is for me!! I have a couple of balls of lovely gifted 'rare breed' self-patterning sock wool, so will choose one of those & I am going to knit a longer 'slouchy' pair for myself to wear this winter over thick black tights with my ancient much-loved purple DMs. Wonder if I can get them finished in time for our holiday?
*Checked online banking to see if a cheque had appeared. It had, so I was able to pay some money across to my CC (the quicker I get those expensive specs paid off, the better).
*NSD. Mr f has had to work all day so I don't have wheels. On the plus side, I could do with a calm, peaceful day at home, & he is apparently bringing home some free cake.
*Two baths from one lot of hot water......you can tell I'm keeping an eye on energy use. No heating on here at all yet, just the towel radiator when towels are damp, & even then, we're mostly trying to run it overnight when the tariff is cheaper. The way I'm looking at this, is the longer we can leave it off, the less stretched we'll be if it turns out to be a cold winter & we need to run it more. And if cold snaps don't materialise? Then we can see how much credit we have & request a refund.
OK, frugal friends, almost at the end of my coffee now, so will sign out & do the last couple of jobs, then I shall decide on a film.
La E - I forgot to say yesterday that it's good news about your partner. I bet it's all been very stressful x

Foxgloves, will be thinking of you tomorrow. Having done this just a few years ago my advice would be to enlist somebody to help take care of your mum for the day so you have the chance to say your own goodbyes properly.
La E, great to hear the good news.
I'm still trying to get my head round Amazon, the two FBA things they have are still showing as out of stock but they have very kindly already billed me for their storage though they aren't offering them for sale? One way of the other, Amazon, you either have them or you don't! No sales on the self fulfilled ones though I'm not losing heart as I think the next day delivery is what prompts people to buy from there so I need to get to my mum's to upload the document for small and light tomorrow.
First day off today after three days working (including one 12 hour shift.) I've lots of washing to catch up on but I'm also thinking of taking a drive into a couple of small towns locally (and maybe even the big one) while parking is free to do a quick scout for job ads. I have enough to buy one of the things from DS's Christmas wish list but I'd like to get enough to buy the second at the same time to qualify for free delivery.
Dinner tonight will most likely be a roast using the beef joint I got the other week and I picked up some YS carrot and swede mash yesterday that we can have with the leftover meat on Monday.

The YS beef joint I bought a couple of weeks ago was lovely (despite saying not to cook from frozen
), not a shred of fat anywhere. I've sliced the rest and there's enough left for tomorrow and another bundle to freeze for another roast dinner another time :T

I've never had a bad YS joint tbh, I've even got a gammon in the freezer ready for Christmas that is YS from Easter -did the same last year with the gammon and it was beautiful.
FVD great going on the jobspotter. I've got to sort something out with Amazon as they have charged me for prime-put have DDs free student prime on my account for 6 months.
foxgloves sending hugs. Thinking of you tomorrow xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
