Charter Savings Bank ID Requirements?

Hi.


Just been online, opened a 30 day notice account, seemed easy enough. Asked me if I had lived at my current address for longer than six months; I have...
Opened a few accounts recently, never had to send anything via paper mail for ID purposes...
They have been vague in whether I will need to send the documents?


Do they ever state via initial email that the ID DOCS via paper mail are NOT required to be sent; OR does no one get that official we have identified you electronically on first opening the acount via email?

Got an email outlining what documents I need to send if I need to send them. I don't really know whether I need to? Will they send me a letter asking for them, or do I need to send them as of tomorrow?


Anyone had any experiences?

Also, it seems you just photocopy your Driving License and Passport?


Is there no need to get the copies of the documents verified and CERTIFIED as copies of the original documents by a banking official if ID documents are required?

All very vague, any experiences recently. Thanks.

They didn't ask me for ID.

Given the background you've told us I expect they can identify you electronically.

My advice is not to send it. They will ask if they require it.

No, I just got one that said my account was now open and giving details on how to make a deposit. Now that you've shown us that email my advice changes. You need to send them the ID requested (or give up and open an account somewhere else where they can verify you electronically).
