PPI quick question

Hi all,
A line of my letter states .............
''as your ppi policy was active at the time you responded to us, we have now cancelled it as a result of our findings''
The ppi was added in 2009, and iv had no access to the accounts for about 3-4 years.
So my question is how can it be active when i do not hold the accounts anymore, what does this mean?

What do you mean that you had no access?
You forgot your login details? Or you closed the accounts?0 -
as far as i was aware the accounts were closed, never had no letters from them or anything in all this time ?0
-
If you didn't actually close them, they'll still be open.
That's why they've cancelled the PPI.0 -
wow, well i never knew that, confusing!0

so if its open still its not being paid, so are they adding it to a debt somewhere or something?0
-
PPI is only paid if you have an outstanding balance. If you don't use the account and there's no outstanding balance, no charge will be being incurred.0

well some of the accounts got into debt as the ppi did not cover me when i got ill, and i had pre-existing conditions which they told me id be all covered for, and then i was not. Id be happy if the ppi payments just paid off any debt to be honest !0
