Hi all

I am trying to pay my credit card off . It’s first time I’ve gone over £1000. I have a 2k limit and I have always paid it off in full each month. I am trying to pay it off in full and it’s only letting me pay the minimum.

I have enough in the account to pay it off

Make a faster payment from your bank account

    You don't need to.

Put in the payee sort code and account number, and pay whatever amount you want.

Ignoring the irrelevant information about the current balance of the card, the credit limit and availability of funds in your current account, it would appear that you habitually repay this card in full every month by debit card on the issuers website and are normally given various options as to how much you want to pay (presumably minimum payment, statement balance or other) but on this occasion for unknown reasons you are unable to select any option other than minimum payment? Is that correct?
If you could advise the name of the issuer of this charity card then perhaps somebody who has an account with them may be able to help to guide you through the procedure.
Alternatively, as others have suggested, you can make the payment directly from your bank account by faster payment.

It’s the clarity card. My phone changed the name I typed.

  • Mine still provides options for minimum payment or my choice of payment.

Have you pressed the right button on screen?

You can specify the amount, rather than just the minimum on the online systems.

Failing that, walk into a Halifax Branch, ask to pay your credit card. hand them the card, they'll find the account and pay it that way.
