Help! Why is my shower cold?

I moved in with my partner a few months ago; and his shower is COLD. That's okay in the Summer, but for the past few days it's been killing me.
He moved the shower when he originally moved in; and I think that might have something to do with it. There's hot water from the tap that is now where the shower used to be; and the kitchen tap, but the shower never really gets warm.
His boiler is quite old; but surely there's a way to fix it?! Any advice would be appreciated!

I think a few more details are required. What boiler do you have, combi or is the hot water fed from a cylinder? What pipes feed the shower?0

Also:
Did the shower work OK before your partner moved it? Where exactly did he move it from and to? How is the hot/cold adjusted on the shower?0
