Travellex offer a better rate usually than the post office, plus free commission on currency too (same as P/O) but whether you would class them as 'high street' is another thing as they are usually based at most major airports! You can pay online and order currency for collection on a date to suit.....but it would depend on whether you are flying or prepared to make a trip to where they are situated to collect! Post Office more convenient.

If you do not want always to waste you money with High Street companies it is worth reading ' The cheapest way to spend overseas: save 6% ' article...

Do order it from www.travelex.co.uk, NOT their branches as they give a different rate and will even tell you this! Also don't use a Visa card (even a debit one!) as they will charge an extra fee
2p off is still 2p off!

If you live in London Thompson Global Exchange on Victoria Street offer very, very good rates.

I have been touting them a few times in the past, I don't work for them or have any association with them, I just think they have excellent rates.
