F61 error on Vaillant Eco TEC Pro 24 boiler

Morning All, Some advice please. The above error number is showing on my boiler - no heating or hot water. I've re-set a number of times and it comes back on, when I did it this morning it sounded as if the boiler had to fill with water any ideas please?


I've looked in the book and it says Gas Valve issue but if that had broke or faulty why can I get the boiler going?

    It will be an electrical issue with it causing a intermittent issue. Not a lot you can do but call someone in. How old is it? Could it still be under warranty?

    Part of the Furniture 10,000 Posts Photogenic Name Dropper
    According to the manual it is one or more of the following: -

    - Short circuit/short to earth in cable harness for the gas valve
    - Gas valve defective (coils shorted to earth)
    - Electronics defective

    Unless you are a competent/experienced electrician/engineer I would call in someone.

    We had a Vailant boiler in a house ... they are supposed to be reliable .... I disagree
