That's Sports Direct!
Update:- Went down the shop where I purchased the trainers and spoke to the manager. He called customer care and while he was on the phone, they called me on my mobile as well. Hermes have admitted liability that they lost the order and the shop have refunded me. Manager was very helpful though and was going to refund me anyway I think, but it just so happened they came on the phone as I was talking to him.
I called another local store (Perry Barr) and they had stock of the exact trainer, so hubby and daughter have gone down now to get them.
Am going to think carefully before I darken their door again!Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -
Still a good chance the Hermes "delivery driver shaped object" will turn up about tea-time tomorrow with the first set - best prime family members to refuse delivery if it does.0

They mean the trainers may still turn up and if they do, there are less potential headaches for you if you refuse to accept the delivery (and make sure anyone likely to answer the door knows to do the same).
If they turn up and you accept the delivery, you may possibly have issues trying to arrange its return or if you return it and it becomes lost/damaged during that return. Much easier/more clear cut if it never comes into your possession. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
