Need to keep my boiler going

My boiler (ideal class ff380) is 15 years old now
Had some work done, new pcb, pump etc.
It’s kettling, water is yellow in radiators and I think I’m getting gas from corrosion in small amounts.
I need to keep this running. I can’t afford a new one yet and anyone I know that’s had a new condensing type has had some issues.
Am I worrying about nothing or is there anything to suggest that I could do to keep it running smoothly?

Add some Fernox/Sentinel Silencer and some Inhibitor. Bleed the radiators regularly to remove the gas.
Start saving hard for a new boiler. I bought a Vaillant Condensing Boiler (a Combi) a couple of years ago as I heard they were reliable, and there have been no problems so far. You could consider getting a personal loan to pay for the boiler - over three years it will be less than £100 a month. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
It’s a pretty bulletproof boiler, if the system had been looked after it would of gone on for donkeys years.
Best bet know is a system clean, drain it all after a couple of weeks and refill with inhibitor and silencer or pay to have it power flushed.0 -
*cleaner, fernox f3 or something a bit stronger like kamco fx2.0

Glad to hear the boiler is bullet proof!
It’s generally ok but suffers from the occassional pop, sometimes some repetitive smaller pops.
It doesn’t cycle frequently, flow is good.
2 years ago, in my unvented system I put some sentinel x800 in, I ran it for perhaps a few weeks / month.
I drained it at least twice.
I then put x100 and x200 in.
Quiet honestly I noticed no difference.
The drained water was not particularly dirty to be honest.
The radiator water is now yellow.
It’s just the popping in the boiler and the water colour. I’m no engineer but I’m just trying to prolong it.0
