Query about tax credits

Hi, been reading the pages to try to understand tax credits and am confused, it reads as though there are two types - child tax credit (TC) and working TC. But then it speaks of the Child Care Element of Working TC and says this is NOT the same as Child TCs. How do you know if you are eligible for the latter? Can you be eligible if you are not eligible for WTC? Is the claim form one and the same for all three and HMRC decide?
Apologies if obvious to others but am confused. Please can someone clarify. Thank you.

It’s all one form but the criteria for WTC/Childcare/CTC is different.
