    If you're using Handbrake on a Windows machine and your PC has a recent Intel processor, check under the Video tab to see whether Intel Quick Sync Video (QSV) is available in the drop down list of encoders. Using this, instead of the regular H264 software encoder, can reduce your processing time by 80% or more.
