Son could well be under 18 though? Is that not what's meant? I don't know what the relevance is.

So a father cant take his own son out unless he is already an adult?

Unless you were in what is deemed a 'short marriage' (which I think is less than 2 years?), then it makes no odds if your wife's extra properties are in her name or your name, they will be deemed assets of the marriage.

This means unless there are some very extenuating circumstances you will have a valid claim on those properties.

As mentioned, the reason your wife is probably in no rush is because she's busy 'hiding' those assets to stop you having a claim on them.

Speak to a solicitor as a matter of urgency.

I find this hard to believe.
Why did wife throw you out?
27 months on and you have not sought advice?
How old? At 48+, you are old enough to speak up for yourself?
Don't you have friends or family who can advise you?

    See a good solicitor asap.

How far off 18 is your child? As soon as he is 18 she can shift all her assets to him & probably get them all back as soon as the divorce goes through because he will trust her & sign whatever she asks.

I took it to mean that the son might not be old enough to get by himself to a meeting point.

A meeting point outside the front door?

!!!!!!, we don't know why OP finds it necessary to visit his child at the marital home, that's why I asked, because the child's housing needs will be a factor in any settlement.

Whilst one might assume that the child of a 30 year marriage would be to all intents and purposes an adult, capable of making his own decisions about where and when to meet up with his dad, it's perfectly possible that he's young. I know of at least three families who struggled to conceive and then had a pregnancy when the hormones were all over the place during the menopause. It's also possible that the child is older but suffers from a physical or mental disability. We simply don't know and shouldn't make assumptions.

I wonder why he hasn't come back to elaborate?
