Dyson upright- replace filters?

Does anyone know if the two filters in a 6 year old DC25 dyson upright should be replaced every few years?

We wash them every now and then as directed but I just wonder if that is good enough after all this time and the materials that they are made of might not be as effective as time goes on.

I always change them every so often , they are not overly expensive off ebay (and no need to be real dyson ones)


I'd also get a tin of air blaster and blow out the dust in the canister and canister head




I fix these for people on and off , clogged filters is a motor killer in the long term

The filters are a "lifetime" part of the cleaner - Just give them a good wash now and then, and they shouldn't need to be replaced. Just make sure the filters are nice & dry before putting them back in.

I washed the filters on ours every year or two; good as new. As Freebear stated, you need to make sure they are completely dry before reinstallation.
