Intrest account question

I have a UK account with about £8k sitting in it. I was earning around 5% intrest on it with lloyds TSB, as long as I put at least £1000 through the account every month. Ive since stopped working in the Uk and am back in Ireland. Since I dont put the £1k thorugh it anymore im going to drop down to a crappy rate of intrest.

I dont really need the money for about 4-5months, whats the best thing to do with it? It was a lloyds TSB select account.

I cant actually set up another UK account seeing as im not over there, but is there a better offer within lloyds or an online sterling bank with good intrest that i could sign up to?

I also i dont need to a select account anymore and dont want to pay the charge each month, is there anyway i can cancel it online or without actually going into one of their branches?
