    I called this number and was told that it was only for new customers signing up but because i'd only been with them a month they are giving me the Film Four free for a month out of the kindness of their hearts.

    It never hurts to ask!

    Subscribed to the offer today. The operator seemed like she hadn't heard of the offer and her computer didn't take the code - but we're now watching film four so it seems to have worked. Must remember to cancel within a month to stop them billing for it.

    Are any of the other independent channels offering a free month?

    they put me through to sky so therefore 0800 number for sky rather than national call rate

    also asked for mutv free for a month and they put me through and got that

    remember to cancel though
