Vinyl tiles - self adhesive

Decorating my bedroom and wondering what people think about having vinyl tiles in the bedroom.
It's not normally something I would think of doing but.... Similar to my other thread... I've seen it in some IKEA show rooms and it looked nice.
Also...how is this stuff laid on floorboards upstairs?

I used some cheap self adhesive tiles in a box room. Don't stick them down to the floorboards as they are a pig to get up again and leave a sticky mess behind. Lay a sheet of hardboard down and fix it with plenty of tacks (300mm spacing is enough), and then stick the tiles on top. When laying the tiles, make sure they bridge the joints in the hardboard.
When you want to get rid of the tiles, the hardboard can be prised up along with the tiles, and no mess left behind.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
