Letterbox draught excluder needed

Options
Hello, we're in a rented property with a 1930s front door. The letterbox is at chest height, and anyone posting something through the letterbox can see straight into the house.
I've been trying to find a draught excluder but as it's an old door the size is unusual. Could anyone advise if there is a diy solution to this problem?

Tia

Thank you but no, they are not the right size.

An alternative is to fix something above the letter box opening

Perhaps something like a piece of nylon sheet (or card) attached to the door, which hangs down over the opening but allows post to be pushed through and drop to the floor?

Edit: or a box over the opening, that the mail falls into?

Maybe something like this, but you'd need to cover the top and front with card or cloth?

Make your own using a cardboard box? Very MSE . . . ;)

What about a piece of carpet attached to the door above the flap - flexible but heavy enough to sit againsty the door?

Thank you for all your posts.

My lovely landlady put so much effort into making this house the way it is, I wanted as neat a solution as possible. She had an internal flap fitted but this doesn't offer the privacy that your ideas offer.

The height I need is 60mm which seems to be greater than a standard size. I was thinking that fitting something smaller would make it awkward for the postman.

Sew what - you may be onto something there - it needn't even be something as thick as carpet, so long as it's a decent enough length to hang in the way! I'll have a rummage tomorrow for some fabric. I could attach it to the flap easily enough with tape.

    Thank you all ☺
