    I think the problem here is choosing the wrong product for someone in that situation. I have POA for my elderly mother. She has a small estate with no property, so I have all of her savings in accounts that can be liquidated without the need to go through probate.

    When the time comes I can wrap her estate up very quickly at zero expense. I did have some of her savings in P2P but that would require probate to recover regardless of how little was in there but chasing the odd extra quids interest is no longer appropriate for her.
