Sorry to hear about the pain and the lack of sleep, greenbee - hope you had something OTC to take down the intensity.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I'm making a careful note of what painkillers I take when!
Soup is out of the freezer as I need to add some nutrition to the diet of weetabix and nursery puddings. And I'm hoping to feel up to making some more soon, as I have lots of veg that needs cooking.
Laundry sorted, one load of laundry done, another in, breakfast eaten and I'm off to clean my teeth, take more drugs and have another rest. Hopefully I'll get the bulk of my Christmas presents sorted and wrapped today as well. It's another windy and miserable day, so at least I'm not missing out on much!0 -
No wrapping done. Just eating soup and lying around feeling sorry for myself. And a bit of laundry.
More laundry in this morning after a bad night's sleep. Hoping at least to get that under control. Weetabix and liquidized kiwi fruit for breakfast. Today's objective is to manage to wash my hair, which right now seems like a huge challenge, but it feels grim...0 -
Showered and washed my hair. Have kept going with the laundry so am nearly caught up (will have to do ironing and putting away), and also made mushroom soup. There's a lot of veg in the fridge and the only way I will be able to eat it is as soup - so I need to plan a soup a day when possible and at least that way I'll have some variety by freezing some and using some of what's already frozen.
I've got 2x small BNS, 1.5 x sweet potato, potatoes, artichokes, parsnips, broccoli, spinach, carrots, half a leek, a bit of celery, not enough onion, an aubergine, a spaghetti squash, a cauliflower, tomatoes, peppers and some spinach.
There's also quite a bit of fruit, so I need to work out what to do with that too - apples, mango, pineapple, grapefruit, lemons and lime (the lemons and lime may be frozen for use in drinks). Purees/smoothies work OK, and I have watermelon and bananas in the freezer I can mix them with.
I also need to get protein into myself somehow, so am going to see whether I can manage scrambled eggs later (there are two that need eating) an if so add them to the shopping list.0 -
A soup a day is a great idea. I may try to do the same
I hope you manage a good night's sleep tonight. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks DIA. I try to get my soup going in the morning before I start work and stick it in a thermal bag so it's ready at lunchtime. Obviously now I have to liquidise it so I don't have to chew!
I did manage scrambled eggs today, so have added them to a supermarket delivery order. I was going to go food shopping but I suspect it would be a bad idea. So I've ordered all the heavy stuff0 -
Had a surge of energy, so tidied downstairs and let the robot loose for a bit. Also removed the sofa cushions and hoovered them and all the crumbs and fluff from underneath... must do the other one once i’ve finished present wrapping and have space!
Also sorted the hotel toiletries and airline amenity packs into batches for the night shelter. Must remember to collect them more frequently as they come in handy at this time of year.
Hope to get a decent night’s sleep so I can get some work done tomorrow. Not looking forward to meetings as talking is hard work.0 -
Robot did the hoovering between me waking up and going down for breakfast which was great...
A couple of loads of laundry done (of course there is always more, but that's the backlog dealt with, just the ironing to catch up on now) and some windows opened to air the house while the sun is shining.
I've steam cleaned the kitchen & utility room floors twice - as they're still coming up grubby I clearly need to do them again, and also have a word with my cleaner about changing the mop pads and mopping till they are clean and/or changing the water and mop heads if she's using a mop and bucket. There are plenty of pads and mop heads, so there is no issue.
Soup has also been made, bin scrubbed inside and out (why on earth I thought a silver bin was a good idea I have no idea!) and the oven door relieved of 5 year's worth of burnt-on debris. The oven isn't any cleaner, but it looks it. I've never really bothered in the past as it's a temporary oven - but after 5 years it appears it isn't that temporary...
I've been listening to work stuff online while I've been doing this - better to do housework than sit and stare at the screen, as I then end up looking at email/reading which means I don't concentrate on the talking.0 -
Concentration span is still pretty poor as there is still some pain and i’m now worrying that the graft is going to fail (with no reason to do so!).
House is fairly tidy and cleaner than usual, and I also managed half an hour in the garden carrying in with the cutting back my mum did when she was here. Only about another half hour of that to go, although there’s still a lot more to do in the garden!
Didn’t get to Pilates tonight - had a bath and cleared out the shower drain instead. I was under the impression that the cleaner had been doing this when cleaning the shower, but clearly not, so I need to remind her to do plug holes/drains each time. And also polish the taps as they’re clean, but covered in watermarks where she doesn’t wipe them down. As she has broken her wrist I also need to think of things she can do one handed if she decides to come tomorrow. Probably cleaning windows...0 -
Cleaner didn't come... but is coming tomorrow. I've managed to work out stuff for her to do, so just need to get the relevant tidying done by then!
Some lights I ordered for the bathroom are being returned as they're not suitable. I've sent off the request for the returns number and hopefully will have it in time to get everything packed up and dropped off tomorrow when the post office is open.
Didn't make it to Pilates yesterday, but have done today. Present wrapping is going slowly. Soup making is going well, but I'm running out of containers, so need to order some more glass ones (I'm getting rid of plastic and it's a good time as the night shelter want plastic food containers). Ikea seems to be the best bet, and they do post these so I don't have to drag myself down there.
In other exciting news... I've taken up the rugs upstairs so the robot can clean under them and I can mop the floors. I'll then leave them down for another 6 months or soAnd I've bleached all the plug holes.
Online food order has arrived - I clearly wasn't entirely with it when I put the order in, as I have about 5kg of onions. Think I might be making onion soup later today...
I have managed to eat tuna (mashed with mayo) so am starting to get some protein in as well as veg and ice cream. And have been liquidising fruit. Tomorrow I'm going to try porridge for breakfast rather than weetabix, which would make a nice change.
Hopefully the lack of exercise has been offset by the lack of alcohol.
Just need to pay the electrician and arrange for quotes for the kitchen/utility and doors. Really CBA to call the builder, so am going to have a think about how to get the odds and ends sorted out.0
