Conservatory Roof Shattered - Why?

Hi,
Two months ago we had a new UPVC double glazed conservatory roof fitted. It was made up of six panels, in total an area of 4 x 5 metres.
At the weekend, it wasn't raining or windy, but one of the external panes shattered.
Can anyone suggest a reason for this?
Best regards,
Sidcup

Toughened conny roof units have been known to pop but it's very very rare. It could have been stress, a bit of broken tile or a bird dropping a stone. You'll never know I'm afraid my lord.0

Jealous/angry neighbour? have a poke around for bits of spark plug ceramic.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

As docmatt suggested, maybe stress, eg from being badly fitted. What did the fitters say and have they agreed to replace it free of charge?0

Forewarned is forearmed. When you get the fitters back look closely to see if the unit has been centred up evenly on the glazing bars/rafters, or is it pinched tight at one side? There is a chance the fitters will not be interested and claim damage, wear and tear and so on. Be ready to counter this if things appear unsatisfactory.0

It should be pretty easy to counter any 'wear and tear' suggestion after only two months.0
