Mortgage for a spouse visa holder with 5-10% deposit

My wife is British and I am in the UK on spouse visa which is due for renewal in April 2018.
We are already talking with a couple of mortgage advisors but maybe forum members can recommend a mortgage advisor who is experienced in this kind of mortgages (not sure if they have such specialisations).
We both are employed full-time and most of our savings are in out bank accounts. Do you know if any bank offer mortgages for spouse visa holders with 5-10% deposit?
Thank you

As far as I am aware, there is only one or possibly 2 high street lenders who would consider it.

See what your broker(s) come back with but I suspect they will probably all come back with more or less the same deal(s), due to the limited amount of options.

  • Who are these lenders? Is it worth contacting them directly?

Im not allowed to name lenders. I would say you are probably best leaving it to the brokers and just stick with one of them when the time comes. The last thing you want is 2 people doing the same job.

I would suggest speaking to London and Country mortgage brokers. They did our mortgage for us in the same scenario and we are now home owners.
:jFinally going to be a homeowner:T

Nothing again L&C personally (although they did have to make 2 applications for a client of theirs who was buying a house I was selling), reviews on this site from posters on here are hit and miss, some rave about them, others are the opposite.
