Can a broker pick up a DiP started independently and continue to full application?

I've begun a mortgage application online and had my DiP referred with Nationwide. Can my broker pick this up on my behalf and then (if it passes) continue to a full application without incurring a further credit check?
Just for info, I know why it was referred (previous repossession) and my broker has already checked they'll lend to me given how long ago it was. I'm hoping that the fact the DiP wasn't automatically declined means it wasn't turned down simply based on information held by the credit reference agency, and given the broker has reassured us that we meet affordability easily and meet the lending criteria, we'll be ok - any brokers care to burst my bubble?

No. The broker would need to start from scratch.
On a side note, did you ask a broker to find you some options and then decide to cut them out of the process?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. No, I didn't. The broker seems worth his weight in gold (and is cheap as chips)! I just got over enthusiastic last night after a glass of wine and entered my details online, thinking it might speed things up if the process got started before the weekend. Oops. I've already sent him all the paperwork required to move forward on my behalf and have told him I started the DiP.0

Any thoughts on whether I'd have had an outright decline if the credit reference agency info was a problem?0

If it was an outright decline, it would have declined you.
Best case scenario was always going to be a refer. But there is still the possibility that it could be declined - although my experience with nationwide is quite positive in the main.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Let's hope you keyed everything in correctly. If the broker keys in differently it may cause a problem.I am a Mortgage Broker
