    Good afternoon

I'm thinking of downgrading my Sky TV package and just wanted to know when I can make the changes. I'm about to come to the end of a 10 month discount period which was tied to a 12 month new contract. The discount period ends next week and the contract ends 3rd of Dec 17. Can someone advise at what point I can make the downgrade? I'm wanting to remove the HD element and then maybe reduce the sports package.

    Many thanks

When you contact Sky, you can give them advance notice to cancel your Sky on 3rd Dec. I did this a couple of years ago after I took out a similar 10 month offer to what you have. I then received a new "come back to sky" offer instantly on mysky, meaning I didn't have to pay the last 2 months full price.

Do you know (or anyone else) if you can put a cancellation through online now or does it just pop up a 'call us to cancel' message. And if you can, do you set the cancellation date?

Yes, Sky were heavily criticised a few years ago for apparently not allowing E-Mail cancellations. Sky promised that the issue would be swiftly addressed. Obviously, they'll still want to discourage you and offers to stay will therefore still be forthcoming.
I would be loathe to cancel too far ahead of the date when you want services to end.
