Switching current accounts when overdrawn

Trying to sort out my girlfriends finances. She is with RBs and is around £1700 overdrawn, and is charged around £20 a month for this. Is it possible to switch current accounts when overdrawn? Im thinking that the A&L £5 deal would save her a lot on monthly overdraft charges as she works to get it down, but would they accept her?

Hi there, I've recently done this.
A&L only move credit over to the new account once it's opened, so once my account had been opened and I knew that my OD limit had been matched I paid off the od using my A+L one.0 -
thanks, is it a given that they would usually match your existing overdraft? My GF's overdraft is £2000.I can offer no resistance, I can offer no respite

They matched mine £1500 and my OH £4000 (only interest free up to £2500 on his) they just needed written proof of the OD to match it. I suppose it's all down to the individual but it was fine for both of us.0

Hi, A&L wouldn't let us have the overdraft facility and could only offer us the basic joint current account.0
