Car end of lease - how much fuel to leave in tank?

Ha!
I've never done a lease before and wasn't sure what people normally did, hence the question.
And so after differing replies I may as well call them to get an answer from the horses mouth, even though they may be biased to say leave quite a bit in?
I've had rentals before where you collect with a full tank and they expect to receive it back with a full tank, but thats a different scenario.
Well that would be my thinking - they'll say "make sure its half full / full" or whatever tickles their fancy.
I'd say get the low fuel warning light out and they'll be happy enough.0 -
I usually leave quarter of the tank, but with last car I left half a tank. I wanted to get stats for last fuelling, so bought full tank and then used a half of it. I'm sure I won't go bankrupt spending £35 on petrol.
My new leased car came with quarter of the tank of fuel. I went straight to petrol station.0 -
How much was in the tank when you first took delivery? Base your answer to your own question, upon that.
More important is this tip: take a date-stamped photo of the mileage when they pick it up. If you can, let them see you doing that. There is a very good reason for this advice, based on the experience of a mate who leased.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.
