N.I. & free perscriptions.

If a single person claiming E.S.A. or J.S.A. moves in with there partner who works full time they are not entitled to any benefits as there working partner is expected to keep them, is the person on esa or jsa still entitled to have there national insurance paid & get free prescriptions, dental check-ups & eye tests ?, or do they lose all that as well & have to expect there partner to pay that also ?
can anyone help or advise ?
Thanks.

As long as the person still meets the conditionality criteria for each benefit (complies with job seeking requirements for JSA, possible need for fit notes/work focused interviews/assessments for ESA,) then they can have a claim for NI credits only for either benefit.

I cannot find an answer as to whether NI credits only claims gives them entitlement to free prescriptions. If no one has personal experience of this then I suggest you telephone these people and ask as they are the ones who issue the penalties!

If you have no entitlement to the income based benefits then I assume you'd not get free dental/prescriptions as it is the income based benefits that entitle you to it.
