O2 signal issues - thinking about ending contract early

Hi, advice needed.
Had my phone for a while and been on O2 for over 5 years as was very good for me at home and in areas I use it, mainly at home.
About 2 years ago they upgraded local mast to 4g. We had big problems here and signal dropped from full signal to 1 bar on phone, occasional phone calls dropped or interrupted and you started to have to watch where you were in the house to get a good signal. This was reported at the time and was an issue for many people on area. Eventually O2 said that it would remain like that as they had had to update the mast and we were still able to get a signal.
In last month signal has become even worse with most calls suffering from distortion or dropping out. Calls being missed and phone not ringing bit getting an answer phone message off someone who'd rang etc. To the extent that I now feel I'm not getting the service I signed up to over a year ago. I'm thinking about coming out of O2 due to this but feel it's unfair to get fees added to any exit as it's the service e that's dropped. Don't mind paying off handset etc.
Has anyone else done this or been in this situation. O2 can't resolve the poor signal issue and it's affecting my service more often than not.
Help needed please...

I presume you don't have one of the supported phones for WiFi calling?

Hi. I think I might do but if I can't get a signal then I can't get data either...0

I don't have WiFi, just phone and data. Other areas I used to get great coverage with O2 (hence me moving over years ago from Vodafone) I can no longer get any signal at and no WiFi I'm those locations now. EE does seem to still have coverage in those areas too... Not sure what O2 has been doing but it doesn't seem good. Got friends here saying same too, O2 gone downhill....0

What help do you require? After 5 years you’re out of any minimum term, so if the service is carp, check out which network of the other 3 give you the best signal, and go with that - porting your old number if required.0
