NatWest - 2x loan claims successful, Mortgage refused - confused

Hi everyone,

Firstly I am very naive lol

I never in a million years thought I had PPI, so was shocked when i called Natwest 15 aug and was told I had 4x ppi, 2x loans, 1x mortgage (paid off), 1x overdraft - I have received two cheques (loans) yesterday for just under £5k but have just been told the claim on my mortgage was unsuccessful - I am shocked as I had no idea i had any ppi and made it clear during telephone interview that I was told all insurance etc were mandatory (which i was this is not a lie), also how can they uphold complaints on two and refuse the third?

so where do i stand, I am waiting for the official letter to be posted out to me but can i appeal? is it worth appealing?

any advice would be so appreciated, thank you all x

You had no idea you had MPPI but you were told it was compulsory. Can you not see the contradiction there?

MPPI complaints are rarely successful, it's generally a good insurance to have. What other insurances/ provisions did you have in place in case of illness or redundancy?

All complaints are unique. You can have all three upheld, all three denied or any combination. Basically the result of one complaint has no bearing on that of another.

From what you say, the loan complaints were not upheld on the basis that you complained about. An unsubstantiated allegation about something that may or may not have been said is rarely successful on it's own. The Bank looks likely to have found other faults with the sale of the loan PPI and nothing with the mortgage.

Note that the majority of mortgage PPI complaints are rejected.

I'd imagine the loan PPI was refunded because you paid single premium, but the mortgage was not because you are not immortal, and you don't have enough savings or insurance elsewhere to save your house should you be unable to pay the mortgage, or you complained about MPPI to them when you actually pay it to someone else.
