Be very careful on going to court over building works.
But in this case the worst that can happen is that the OP would have to pay the extra charge plus the builder's fees. If your suggestion for avoiding court is to pay everything that's been asked for then that's not very money saving.0 -
Were the extras things that needed to be done that he would not have known about when he gave his quote? Be very careful on going to court over building works.
Only that he had to remove a cupboard for the electrician and put it back up, the rest he would have known of. He's also trying to charge £60 for three router bits under materials whereas in my mind it's tools of the job surely? You can't exactly cut worktops without them. I should mention there was no mention of materials on top ta all until the bill and he never advised of additional charges as the work was being done.0
