Would I be getting ripped off?

Moving into a new build house in January and in the process of choosing the dreaded optional extras. I know typically these are more expensive than getting your own quotes, but I guess part of that cost is all about the convenience of not having to sort it yourself. Anyway...

In the main bathroom, the cost for an "over bath thermostatic shower, full height tiling and glass shower screen" is £1,125 inc VAT.

Now I've been renting for 10 years so haven't had to worry about this kind of thing, but the key question is...is that totally extortionate?

Any advice would be pretty awesome

If they are quality materials and it's done to a decent standard, it seems fine.

sounds reasonable, but as above it depends what you're getting.

Thanks both. You'd hope it's done to a decent standard if it was to be arranged by the developer - the site office will be there for around 12 months after I've moved in too so not far to walk if something's not right with it.

I think I would want to know the make and model number of the shower proposed.
