Ryanair name change

Options
I've booked a holiday to Malta from Manchester, end of November through Love Holidays.

As we're flying with Ryanair, was worried about the cancellations but when checking the booking/tickets found that the 2nd passenger's name wrong.

Obviously I've not told my wife yet that I forgot her name;
her first name is fine but I've put her middle name as her surname and her surname has been omitted.

Will this be picked up by ryanair when checking in online or when trying to board?

Comments

  • She won't be allowed to board if the name on her boarding pass doesn't match her passport, you'll need to phone them up and change it (for a fee).

It's the same person travelling, so it's not a name change, it's correcting an error.

  • It's the equivalent of inputting name as Kentucky Fried instead of Kentucky Fried Chicken or Kentucky Chicken

so surname appears as Fried instead of Chicken

I've checked both Loveholidays and Ryanair website and both charge £110 for passenger change

The passenger hasn't changed, so that charge doesn't apply.

Does your wife have the same last name as you?

Ryanair still charge the name change fee to correct mistakes. They give a 24 hour grace period for free changes but after that you've got to pay.

A 'correct mistakes fee' should be charged because the passenger hasn't changed.

    no, she has separate surname

both of us have a middle name so I usually type all three parts of the name when booking holidays as that's how it is on our passports

My booking as lead passenger, middle name omitted
2nd passenger surname is her middle name

I've been tying to liveChat to resolve (hopefully without fee) but I only get "Our agents are not available at the moment."

Just wanted to check with the forum what my chances are doing this for free

Either way he's going to have to pay, no matter what you want to call the charge.

I am trying to be my most biased, but even I can see that changing the surname looks like a person change so they can charge... just wanted to know IF they will charge

the other question for the forum is that if they say i have to pay £110 for both changes so a total of £220 return or even one payment of £110
currently flight is available for £95, worth getting new tickets to save £15 and try to check in 3 seats and get some extra space?

    Update:
Got onto LiveChat.. with difficulty as you have to initially input your details, but the page changes when its busy but comes back when available again, so have to input details bit by bit and wait on screen

explained situation and name was changed... for free
now the next worry is if they flight gets cancelled!!
