1) Blue beacons in the background 'everyone around starts going into full ignorance mode, pulling into an angle or mounting the kerb.

1.5) Later a car passed me on a duel carraigeway and then driving like a looney, he's in front long enough for me to remember the reg, decided to look it up on my vehicle smart whn I get home, no tax since June 2017, mot in July but with adviories of thin tyres and bushes worn,63 plate with 34k on the clock.

I think the police are all on twitter or posting useless remarks on forums these days ;)

How's getting out the way for blue light vehicles Ignorant?
  • What's to say the owner of said vehicle didn't get new tyres and bushes replaced after the MOT? No tax? Leave it to the DVLA/Police.

Getting out of the way isn't ignorant (if they were actually in the way in the 1st place) mounting the kerb etc and going into a frenzy certainly isn't in the highway code.

I know some say it can take 5 days for the screen to update, however since June? I know when I renewed the data was updated as near as instantly.

Sometimes it's best to carry on at normal speed until in an area where it's safer to do so. Narrow busy roads for example, where pulling over/stopping does nothing except holding up the emergency vehicle.
It's another one of those bad "automatic driving" habits, see blue lights = pull over regardless.

I was in such situation a few years ago, Police behind me, narrow road, opposing traffic queued up on other side, no footpath just a mud bank, car in of me front trying to stop, dual-carriageway less than 100 yards ahead, i'm there on the horn and gesturing to keep going, the guy EVENTUALLY gets it, utterly ridiculous, no forward planning, see blue lights and panic.
The Police gave me a thumbs up as they went past and sped off into the distance.

That was thing here several feet up the road the road widens for the traffic junction, those infront just stopped and as such a queue behind including the emergency vehicle now held up. :(
