New Kitchen Needed - Confused!

Hi all,

Kitchen is small, 2m x 2.5m galley. Budget limited as we now have to have new windows fitted.

We've been looking for a new kitchen for ages and veered from one extreme to the other.
Originally had quotes through joiners from Howdens but they seem extortionate for our kitchen size.

Went to Wren but gave up as a bad joke!

Then quoted from B&Q which was a good bit cheaper but was their IT range.

Looked at DIY-Kitchens who seem good value but was concerned about getting it ordered correctly and the delivery possibly wouldn't suit as we didn't know the availability of fitters.

Been in to see a couple of independents near us and waiting on a quote from one for a Pronorm kitchen.
Other one does Mackenzie and Burbridge. Price quoted was not much more than Howdens.

Have managed to get a family friend who is a builder and fits kitchens so fitting will now be dealt with as fitting costs seemed to vary a lot and our head was spinning trying to choose who was reliable and good quality for the price.

Have narrowed it down to 13 units in total. Spent on good appliances so not wanting el cheapo units but something that will last 10+ years.

We like the attitude of the Pronorm showroom, they weren't trying to sell and even suggested that getting our own fitter would save a good bit of cash. They also do Sheraton Kitchens but say the Pronorm are a good bit better.

Have searched on the forum but not much about Pronorm. Would anyone like to give any advice about them or which way to go for the cabinets from all the mentioned manufacturers?

Many thanks

Apologies, I meant Mackintosh Kitchens not Mackenzie

I've just used DIY-Kitchens but installed it myself, generally been good. One unit I found damaged (after the 10 days) and they have agreed to send me a new one.

I planned it myself and then went to Wickes to see what they came up with, pretty much the same, so I was happy to order.
