Microsoft edge had disappeared off my pc!!

Micorsoft edge has disappeared off my pc completely.
No icon, nothing when searched.
Now pdf files I've downloaded from edge do not open

Any ideas, I've googled it but no help whatsoever.

How about googling "Microsoft Edge missing" That worked for me. By the way it is Cortana not cortina.

As for PDF's, its best to use adobe reader anyway, get it free here :-

Certainly in Win 8, if you set another browser as the default browser, then it would stop showing the MS one on the startpage/taskbar/programs list. Kindof a love-me-or-leave-me thing. Could that be it?

Edge is actually a rather decent browser, it shares 0% code with Internet Explorer which became a mess.
