I'm not sure I altogether agree about not to buy a funeral now. I do mean buying the funeral though & deciding now what kind of arrangements she wants, especially if she is able & willing to give any input.

The advantage is that if she is in hospital or a care home you tell them who it is with & they deal with it. There is no trying to find a FD when you are most upset.

Are you sure the coop are giving discounts? What the coop here do is when you present your membership card when buying a funeral they pay about 10% to your card.

Sorry for the delay guys it's been a really difficult time. Another family member found an article on the paper advising fully guaranteed funeral plan fixed at today's price and suggested I have a look into it now before things get really difficult.

I had another look in mums house and couldn't find any papers. I also phoned around the 3 main funeral companies and non were able to trace.

Managed to get help from another family member who said they would deal with tho to take the pressure off me. I'm so thankful for his support and all of your replies at what is a real difficult time for the family.

    Thank you.
