John Lewis claim physical damage

I do appreciate receiving the findings that the phone has suffered accidental damage may of caused frustration or confusion.
Our repair centre is manufacturer authorised and if they discover any accidental damage they will get it sent back unrepaired if they believe it not to be economically repairable.
Regrettably we will not be able to provide any further information as our repair centre is limited to the details they can provide but I can assure you that if they have made the diagnosis of accidental damage then that would be evidence enough as that report has been concluded by accredited and qualified technicians.
Is this really verbatim what John Lewis have sent you?
Terrible English, and "repair centre is limited to the details they can provide" makes little sense in any way. The repair centre aren't limited, JL are just refusing to tell you the exact nature of the issue.
If it were me, I would raise a complaint about the meaning of the above (and mention in passing the grammar).0 -

Yea could be, if that is the case I don't understand why they don't tell me.0 -
Could you take it instore? The reason I say this is that I purchased a Nexus tablet instore in JL which stopped working after 18 months. I took it instore to John Lewis with proof of purchase from them (a bank statement as could not find the receipt) and the tech support bit chap checked it out on the spot. They said they could not replace it as it was out of stock, so offered me a full refund or I could use the refund against another product which I did as they had a sale on.
You might get a better response from a person face to face who can look over the phone for damage.
I took it in store originally and they sent it to their repair centre. I think you're right though, I plan to go back in and talk through my experience so far.0 -
Yes, because that's really the best way to keep matters civil by insulting someone for their grammar
Insulting is not the same as mention in passing....
Dear JL complaints,
That email was stupid, full of grammatical errors, you're stupid, you can't do English and I want my money back.
Dear JL complaints,
Thank you for the email I received on xxx.xxx which I include below. You mention that "the repair centre is limited to any details" but I don't really understand what that means. Could you possibly look into the exact nature of the issues found with my phone and let me know what they were. I would be much obliged.
