Section 75 query

Hmm. So section 75 is hard to implement on a used car that hasn't exhibited any faults previously then...Deleted_User wrote: »Yours to prove it was as you're making the assertion that it was.

More than hard. Closer to snowball's hell in chance.0

S75 is not a substitution for a warranty.
Can you buy a warranty for a car this old and would it cover the damage?
(IMO you can't buy one that would pay out for a complete new engine the reason - everybody would be claiming for everything and the insurance company would go bust)0 -
Bad luck. I had a Citroen once and they are poorly made. A written off engine at 61k is pathetic.0

Absolutely no chance of getting a claim. It was a used car when you bought it, you've had 2 years of trouble free motoring. It is unfortunately just one of those things that could not have been foreseen by anyone and it is not reasonable to expect the retailer to have known that this would occur when they sold it. It is not unusual for a car which has done mostly short journeys in its life to have the bottom end fail at 50-60,000 miles. I've known it on a few cars, mostly French ones funnily enough. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
