Consumer point/fuse box inspection

How much should I expect to pay for a consumer point to be inspected?
Crabtree Starbreaker installed in 2005, sticker says that the recommended date of next inspection was 2015.

The inspection required is for the entire electrical installation - not merely the distribution board. This will depend on the size and complexity of the installation and the extent and limitations of the inspection and testing agreed.

Bear in mind there is no legal requirement for an inspection. It is merely advisory. I have been in my house since 1990 and never had my electrics inspected.

If you wish to have a PIR (Periodic Inspection and Report, Expect to pay from £150 to £300 depending on location and number of circuits to be inspected.

It is, however, a requirement of the IET Wiring Regulations.

And they are relevant to a home owner how?

They are not legal requirements, as pointed out by phil99

Because their electrical installation has been designed, constructed and verified to that Standard. That Standard requires that it be periodically inspected and tested, hence the warning label to that effect. The label isn't there because it looks pretty.

    again as phil99 said

    and I'll quote it

    That is a 100% fact.

The BSDHT (British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy) can give you a sticker that says you should visit a hygienist every 6 months, doesn't mean the police are going to come knocking if you miss an appointment!

Where exactly did I claim that there was an explicit legal obligation to have the electrical installation in a non-tenanted domestic premises inspected?

Now to the untrained reader of these forums, which we can assume the OP is, that would be read as the OP has a REQUIREMENT to do the inspection, which is 100% not the case.

the IET can say what they like, they don't apply to the OP in this case.

It's hardly misleading to state that it is a requirement of the IET Wiring Regulations, which incidentally is entitled "Requirements for Electrical Installations".
