Sainsburys Bank Interest Rates

Same. Have the Sainsbury's Bank eSaver Special at 1.05%. Noticed in last week's email from Martin that rates seemed to be moving up and Sainsbury's were now at 1.17%.
So queried this with Sainsbury's and need to open a new account which I have now done.

Here is the reply I got from Sainsbury's bank:

Good afternoon ******,

Thanks for getting in touch with us and sorry for the delay in response. I have taken a look at your account ending *****, this account was opened on 26/05/2017 so you are receiving the rate applicable to accounts opened on or around this date. The 1.17% interest rate is applicable to accounts opened on or after the 21/09/2017. This can be viewed via the following link:

You too can receive the 1.17% interest rate by simply opening a new esaver account, this application can be done via either online or over the telephone. During the application process you will have the option to transfer your funds from your existing esaver account into the new account. Once the new account is opened you can either have the two accounts live or close the original account which will also allow you to transfer the accrued interest across to the new account.
