After some advice

Hope ive come to right place...please move or remove if i havnt.
Im 23,and my partner is 24, We are currently living in a tiny housing association flat and recieving housing benefit as i am long term ill and recieving benefits....We are looking to move to a 2 bedroom house thats approx £450 a month...We realise we wont get all the rent payed for,But my sister who is 17yearsd old want to live with us in the 2nd bedroom,she`s in part-time work earning approx £200 a month and she is also in full time education.

What were trying to find out...will her livivng with us effect our benefits or housing benefit?

As much info as possible will be very helpful

    hi I know someone who did this many years ago and the rent paid was counted as their income even though it was purely for rent ...I would check with the benefits office before you embark on this as it could have serious implications for you. Also have you considered what will happen when she gets a boyfriend etc and wants to move out? If you were dependant on her to help pay the rent you might have to move also.
