Travel Insurance - Phones and Tablets

I've just called up 'HolidaySafe' travel insurance to renew my policy but was told that the policy doesn't cover loss/damage to phones and tablets. Is this normal? I was under the impression that it was all classed as 'possessions'.
Do I need travel insurance for my phone, or do other policies cover them?

Nothing in insurance is "normal". The price generally reflects the level of cover, but not always.

You may need to switch insurance companies, or if you have household insurance check if it has cover for items outside the home.
