Reapplying for Motgage Protection refund

Hi All,
I was refused a Payment Protection Insurance refund by HSBC a few years ago. Stupidly, I took their word for it and didn't appeal. Is it a waste of time to apply again?

The majority of mortgage insurance complaints do fail. So, nothing stupid about not taking their word for it.

If you complain (not "apply") again you'll simply receive a terse reminder of the result of your original complaint. The time to appeal was up to six months after your original rejection, after that the Ombudsman service became no longer available to you.
